What does Nutmeg Essential oil help with?
Nutmeg ( Myristica fragrans ) is an evergreen tropical tree with aromatic seeds that are used as a spice and in folk medicine. It is known for its warming and antiseptic properties.
Nutmeg Essential oil is extracted by steam distillation of the seeds of the plant and can be used as a:
- Scalp massage oil for hair loss and weak hair - Stimulates blood circulation, strengthens roots and promotes hair growth;
- Serum for oily or problematic skin - Has an antiseptic effect, reduces pimples and regulates oiliness;
- Warming massage lotion for muscle tension - Relieves stiffness and stimulates relaxation;
- Toning additive to a homemade face mask - Improves skin tone and gives a fresh look.
How do i use Nutmeg Essential oil?
1. As a scalp massage oil for hair loss and weak hair
- Mix 2 drops of nutmeg oil with 1 tablespoon of carrier oil ( castor or almond );
- Apply the mixture to the roots with light massage movements;
- Leave it on for 30 minutes, then wash with a mild shampoo.
2. As a serum for oily or problematic skin
- Mix 1 drop of oil with 10 ml of jojoba oil;
- Apply topically to problem areas in the morning or evening;
- Avoid the area around the eyes.
3. As a warming massage lotion for muscle tension
- Mix 3 drops of oil with 2 tablespoons of grapeseed oil;
- Massage the tense areas in circular motions;
- Use as needed after physical exertion or prolonged standing.
4. As a toning additive to a homemade face mask
- Mix 1 tablespoon of clay ( or other natural mask base ) with a little water until you get a paste;
- Add 1 drop of nutmeg essential oil and mix well;
- Apply to your face for 10 minutes, avoiding the eye area, then rinse with lukewarm water.
