What does Ylang-ylang Essential oil help with?
Ylang-ylang ( Cananga odorata ) is a tropical tree with delicate yellow flowers that have a sweet and rich floral aroma. Its flowers are used to extract an essential oil known for its calming and balancing effects on the skin and hair.
Ylang-ylang Essential oil can be used as a:
- Toner for oily and combination skin - Regulates sebum production and tightens pores without drying the skin;
- Ingredient in anti-aging serums - Rich in antioxidants, ylang-ylang promotes skin elasticity and improves the complexion;
- Hair mask for shine and nourishment - Stimulates hair growth and gives the hair a healthy appearance;

How do i use Ylang-ylang Essential oil?
1. As a toner for oily and combination skin
- Mix 2 drops of essential oil with 1 tablespoon of hydrosol ( e.g. lavender or rose );
- Shake the mixture well;
- Apply with a cotton pad to a cleansed face in the morning and evening.
2. As an ingredient in anti-aging serums
- Mix 1 drop of essential oil with 1 tsp of carrier oil ( jojoba or rosehip );
- Warm slightly between your fingers;
- Apply to your face with massaging movements in the evening.
3. As a hair mask for shine and nourishment
- Mix 3 drops of oil with 1 tablespoon of coconut oil;
- Apply to your scalp and hair length;
- Leave for 30 minutes and wash with shampoo.
4. As a scalp strengthening lotion
- Mix 5 drops of ylang-ylang with 50 ml of rosemary hydrosol;
- Pour into a spray or dropper bottle;
- Apply to your scalp 2-3 times a week with a gentle massage, without rinsing.
5. As an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory agent for irritations and minor wounds
- Mix 1 drop of essential oil with 1 tsp of carrier oil ( e.g. calendula or almond );
- Dip a cotton swab or earwax swab into the mixture;
- Apply gently to the affected area 1-2 times daily.
