What does Basil Essential oil help with?

Basil ( Osimum basilicum ) is a well-known aromatic herb with delicate green leaves, used not only in cooking but also in folk medicine. It is known for its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, which make it a valuable assistant in skin and hair care.

The Essential oil extracted from Basil leaves can be used as a:

• Soothing oil for redness and irritation - Suitable after hair removal, bites or minor rashes;
• Stimulating scalp oil for hair loss and dandruff - Improves blood circulation and maintains a healthy scalp;
• Herbal bath for skin and scalp tension - Relaxes the body and at the same time has a beneficial effect on the skin;
• Nail and cuticle lotion - Strengthens the nail plate and softens the cuticles.

How do i use Basil Essential oil?

1. As a soothing oil for redness and irritation

1. Mix 5 drops of basil oil with 1 tsp. carrier oil ( e.g. jojoba );
2. Apply to the affected area with light massage movements;
3. Use 1-2 times daily until the skin calms down.

2. As a stimulating scalp oil for hair loss and dandruff

1. Mix 10 drops of basil oil with 2 tablespoons of coconut or castor oil;
2. Massage into the roots of your hair in circular motions for 5 minutes;
3. Leave it on for 30 minutes, then wash with a mild shampoo.

3. As a herbal bath for skin and scalp tension

1. Mix 10 drops of basil oil with 1 tablespoon of sea salt or baking soda;
2. Dissolve the mixture in a bath of warm water;
3. Relax for 15-20 minutes.

4. As a nail and cuticle lotion

1. Mix 5 drops of basil oil with 1 tsp of almond oil or olive oil;
2. Rub into and around your nails with light massage movements;
3. Repeat every night before bed.
