What does Litsea Cubeba Essential oil help with?

Litsea cubeba ( May Chang ) is an aromatic tropical plant with small fruits rich in essential oil. It is also called "tropical lemon" for its fresh citrus aroma, cleansing, refreshing and balancing effect on the skin.

Litsea Cubeba Essential oil is extracted through steam distillation of the fruits and leaves of the plant and can be used as a:

• Natural toner for oily and acne-prone skin - Regulates sebum production, tightens pores and has an antiseptic effect;
• Additive in a cleansing facial mask - Cleanses pores and reduces inflammation. Suitable for acne;
• Oil for oily scalp and anti-dandruff - Soothes the scalp, refreshes and reduces oiliness of the roots;
• Refreshing addition to a shower gel or shampoo - Refreshes, cleanses and balances the skin.

How do I use Litsea Cubeba Essential oil?

1. As a natural toner for oily and acne-prone skin

1. Take 50 ml of floral water ( e.g. from witch hazel or lavender );
2. Add 2 drops of May Chang essential oil;
3. Shake well and apply with a cotton pad in the morning and evening to clean skin.

2. As an additive in a cleansing facial mask 

1. Mix 1 tsp green clay with 1 tsp water;
2. Add 1 drop of May Chang oil and mix well;
3. Apply to your face ( avoid theeye area ) and leave it for 10 minutes;
4. Rinse with lukewarm water.

3. As an oil for oily scalp and anti-dandruff

1. Mix 3 drops of essential oil with 1 tablespoon of carrier oil ( jojoba or grapeseed );
2. Apply the mixture to your scalp;
3. Massage gently for 15 minutes, then wash your hair with shampoo.

4. As a refreshing addition to a shower gel or shampoo

1. Pour the dose of shower gel or shampoo into your palm;
2. Add 2-3 drops of May Chang essential oil;
3. Mix lightly in your hands and apply as usual.
