What does Bergamot Essential oil help with?
Bergamot ( Citrus bergamia ) is a citrus fruit that resembles a cross between a lemon and an orange. Its peel contains an Essential oil with a subtle, fresh, and slightly floral aroma.
In natural skincare, it is valued for its antiseptic and soothing properties, especially suitable for oily and problematic skin.
Bergamot Essential oil can be used as a:
- Natural deodorant for sensitive skin - Neutralizes odors, has an antibacterial effect and does not clog pores;
- Mask to brighten the complexion and reduce pigment spots - Helps to even out complexion and gives shine to the skin;
- Lip balm with a refreshing effect - Nourishes the lips and gives a light citrus scent;
- Mask for oily scalp and hair without volume - Cleans buildup, refreshes roots and balances sebum secretion;
- Body scrub with a firming and refreshing effect - Removes dead cells and stimulates blood circulation.
How do i use Bergamot Essential oil?
1. As a natural deodorant for sensitive skin
- Mix 5 drops of bergamot oil with 2 tbsp. coconut oil and 1 tsp. baking soda ( optional );
- Mix until smooth;
- Apply a small amount to your armpits with clean fingers in the morning.
2. As a mask to brighten the complexion and reduce pigment spots
- Mix 1 tbsp. yogurt with 1 tsp. honey and 2 drops of bergamot oil;
- Apply evenly to your face;
- Leave it on for 10 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water.
3. As a lip balm with a refreshing effect
- Melt 1 tsp beeswax with 1 tsp coconut oil in a water bath;
- After it cools slightly, add 1 drop of bergamot oil;
- Pour into a small jar and use as needed.
4. As a mask for oily scalp and hair without volume
- Mix 1 tbsp humus ( clay ) with a little water to form a paste;
- Add 2 drops of bergamot oil and mix;
- Apply to your roots, leaveit on for 10 minutes and wash with shampoo.
5. As a body scrub with a firming and refreshing effect
- Mix 3 tbsp brown sugar, 2 tbsp olive oil and 4 drops bergamot oil;
- Apply to damp skin in circular motions;
- Rinse thoroughly with water.
