What does Petitgrain Essential oil help with?

Petitgrain ( Citrus aurantium ) is an essential oil extracted from the leaves and young twigs of the bitter orange tree. Known for its fresh, slightly bitter citrus aroma, it is used primarily for its cleansing, balancing, and soothing properties on oily and problematic skin, as well as for strengthening and refreshing the scalp and hair.

Petitgrain Essential oil can be used as a:

• Toner for oily and combination skin - Balances sebum production, shrinks pores and reduces shine;
• Mask for acne-prone skin - Has an antiseptic effect and regulates inflammation;
• Scalp serum against oiliness and dandruff - Cleanses, refreshes and reduces itching;
• Additive to a shampoo or conditioner - Strengthens the hair and adds shine;
• Compress for irritated or reddened skin - Has a mild cooling and anti-inflammatory effect.

How do i use Petitgrain Essential oil?

1. As a toner for oily and combination skin

1. In 100 ml of hydrosol ( e.g. lavender or witch hazel ) add 5 drops of petitgrain essential oil;
2. Shake well before each use;
3. Spray onto cleansed skin in the morning and evening, avoiding the eye area.

2. As a mask for acne-prone skin

1. Mix 1 tsp green or white clay with a little water until you get a thick paste;
2. Add 1 drop of petitgrain essential oil and mix well;
3. Apply to your face for 10 minutes, without letting it dry completely, then rinse with lukewarm water.

3. As a scalp serum against oiliness and dandruff

1. Mix 2 tbsp. carrier oil ( e.g. jojoba ) with 3 drops of petitgrain oil;
2. Rub gently into your scalp with light massage movements;
3. Leave it on for 30 minutes, then wash with a mild shampoo.

4. As an additive to a shampoo or conditioner

1. Add 1 drop of petitgrain essential oil to a single dose of shampoo or conditioner ( about 1 tablespoon );
2. Mix well in your hands before applying;
3. Use as usual, avoiding contact with eyes.

5. As a compress for irritated or reddened skin

1. In a bowl with 200 ml of lukewarm water, add 2 drops of petitgrain oil;
2. Soak a clean cloth or gauze and squeeze it gently;
3. Place as a compress on your skin for 10-15 minutes.
