What does Spearmint essential oil help with?

Spearmint (Mentha spicata) essential oil is a refreshing and light oil with a mild minty aroma. It is extracted by steam distillation from the leaves of the plant and is valued for its soothing, purifying and toning effects on the skin and hair.

Spearmint essential oil can be used as a:

• Daily toner for oily skin - Helps tighten pores and balance sebum;
• Anti-dandruff scalp lotion - Refreshes the scalp, reduces itching and helps fight dandruff;
• Compress for irritated skin - Soothes redness and provides a cooling sensation;
• Additive to shampoo or shower gel - Provides freshness, has an antiseptic effect and refreshes the skin and hair.

How do I use Spearmint essential oil?

1. As a daily toner for oily skin

1. Add 2-3 drops of spearmint essential oil to 50 ml of floral water (e.g. lavender);
2. Shake well;
3. Spray on your face in the morning and evening to tighten pores and balance sebum.

2. As an anti-dandruff scalp lotion

1. Mix 5 drops of spearmint oil with 2 tablespoons of carrier oil (jojoba or coconut);
2. Rub into the hair roots with massage movements;
3. Leave for 30 minutes and wash with a mild shampoo.

3. As a compress for irritated skin

1. Add 1 drop of spearmint oil to a glass of warm water;
2. Soak a cotton pad and squeeze gently;
3. Place on the affected area for 5-10 minutes for soothing and cooling.

4. As an additive in shampoo or shower gel

1. Place your usual amount of shampoo or shower gel in the palm of your hand;
2. Add 1-2 drops of spearmint oil;
3. Massage onto skin or hair and rinse for freshness and antiseptic effects.
